Marketing and Communications Director

 

Location: Ketchum, Idaho (On-site)

 

Are you ready to rewrite the future of building materials?
At Hempitecture, we’re transforming the built environment with carbon negative, plant based materials that are healthier for people and the planet. As we bring the next generation of sustainable building materials to market, we’re seeking a purpose driven Marketing & Communications Director to be the voice of our nationally recognized brand, leading our content creation, social media presence, community engagement, email campaigns, trade shows, and digital growth strategy from our hometown of Ketchum, Idaho.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Own Hempitecture’s brand voice & growth strategy: Shape and execute a marketing and communications plan that speaks to architects, builders, and homeowners.
  • Create compelling content: Share our story, product innovations, customer successes, and the impact of sustainable materials through engaging copy, photography, and video to be shared on our channels.
  • Lead social media & campaigns: Manage and grow our presence on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms, driving engagement, awareness, and connection.
  • Run email marketing: Build and segment our list, design impactful newsletters, and launch campaigns that deliver measurable results.
  • Manage website content: Keep our WordPress site current, optimized for SEO, and aligned with brand objectives.
  • Foster community: Moderate and grow the Greener Guild, our affiliate program for sustainability minded professionals
  • Support product launches: Plan and execute campaigns for product launches, highlighting code compliance, sustainability benefits, and performance.
  • Collaborate externally: Work with outside agencies for SEO, paid advertising, and specialized creative projects.
  • Track & report results: Monitor KPIs like email subscriptions, website visits, open rates, follower growth, and engagement to inform strategy.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience: Respond to inquiries with empathy, accuracy, and brand consistency.

 

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Social media savviness 
  • Paid advertising experience (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads)
  • Design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
  • Photography/videography for social and campaign content
  • Press/media relations: pitching, interviews, and press release writing
  • Experience in building materials, construction, or sustainability
  • Analytics/reporting (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, email metrics)

 

Who You Are

  • A self starter, capable of taking direction and driving your own workflow
  • A creative, data-aware communicator with a passion for sustainability and innovation.
  • Comfortable operating as a team of one while leveraging agency partners when needed.
  • Skilled in both brand storytelling and performance marketing.
  • Social media savvy, ready to own the social presence of our brand
  • Goal oriented, with a track record of moving the needle on key metrics
  • Ready to travel 4 to 6 times per year for trade shows, events, and press opportunities.
  • Entry or Mid Level, must be ambitious and capable of working in a startup setting

Hemp is a carbon-capturing, soil-regenerating crop that requires no pesticides, no fertilizers, little water to farm and restores rural agriculture at scale. Hemp sequesters ~9 TONS of CO2/acre during it’s growing season. Rapidly Renewable / Carbon Capturing / Low Energy to Produce
